What was on my list at the start of 2024 was creating more flow in my life.

I wanted to more flow and connection with myself. Less push and reactivity.
Three coaching sessions with Geogia (@shaktiseeker_) introduced me to the 4 phases of my menstrual cycle and tracking my cycle every day. Recording my observations for the day took less than a minute but the amount of information I’ve learnt about myself is mind boggling. Within three months I could see very clear rhythms that I hadn’t known before - times of the month when my sleep is disturbed or when I am full of energy or I feel on edge.
And with that new found information came a sense of flow.
I could lean into the phase I was in. I discovered that if I deliberately took some “me time” in the middle of my cycle I would feel less exhausted and reactive at the end. Life changing!
And the giving up coffee? One day I just stopped.
I read a post about caffeine being a powerful drug on our nervous system, stimulating the fight or flight response. It triggers our adrenal glands to release adrenalin keeping our nervous system in red alert and just masks our fatigue. The exact opposite of being in flow.
Of course, all things I already knew about caffeine, but this time I thought…I don’t even like the taste of coffee. I might try not having one tomorrow.
The giving up of my morning coffee meant I said good bye to my overwhelming desire for a nap at 11am. Now I have more consistent energy throughout the day.
I left myself open to the idea of what finding flow may look like this time last year.
I kept myself open to possibilities and it paid off.
What would you like to keep yourself open to this year?
